The Ghost at Judy Creek Station

Now that Trouble Blows West is written and published, I thought I'd switch gears and start reading. So, here are my thoughts on an middle-grade novel I just finished. :)

An abandoned train station, an ancient ghost and a modern day computer spy… oh my!

The Ghost at Judy Creek Station by Laurie Cameron and Laura Meagher, is a fun middle school read that combines the quick thinking of 12-year-old Simon, and his new friends, Annie and Aaron. The three sleuths try to solve a century old mystery with modern day technology.

The setting is a small Illinois town in the summer, which brought back fun memories for me as my own grandmother lived in a small Illinois town that has a train running through the middle of it. The story moves along quickly, too quickly in spots, but nonetheless, will be enjoyable to most MG readers. It has adventure, problems to be solved, friends and introduces contemporary kids to some old-time fun.

A nice mix for a day’s reading pleasure.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GINNIE and TORAN!

Today, May 23rd is the birthday of my main character, Ginnie, and her twin brother, Toran.

They are 12 in my present novels. In celebration of their birthday, I'm re-running my friends and family special: $7 per book. If you want one set, that's $14 plus $3 for media mail delivery.

2 sets is $32 because media mail is $4 for 4 books.

Please email me at: monique.bucheger@gmail.com with how you would like them signed: IE: To the Smith Family or to: Josh and Jenna.

Happy Birthday to Ginnie and Toran...and to my niece Makayla (who turns 12 today). :)

Book Signing at Pioneer Book Today!

I had so much fun with J. Lloyd Morgan last week at Pioneer Books in Orem, UT that I am going to do it again. Only I wish he could be here with me. Check out his books here. What a great guy!

For those of you in Utah--I will again be at Pioneer Books in Orem from 1-3 pm on May 9, 2012. Please stop by and see me. :) For those of you who are NOT local to Utah and want a good deal on signed, first run copies of both of my books, email me @ monique.bucheger@gmail.com. I am signing and mailing books before I fly home on Sunday.

Thanks to all of you that have expressed an interest--especially my friend who just bought 6 sets of my books for her Brownie Troop. :) In the words of Ginnie: Awesome Sauce! You made my week. :)

2 GREAT THINGS HAPPENING TODAY!

I am so-o-o-o excited to be attending the LDStorymakers conference at the Provo Marriott in Provo, UT. After spending the day learning great writing tips from such talents as: Janette Rallison, Tracy and Laura Hickman, David Farland, Tristi Pinkston, Julie Wright, Annette Lyon, Liz Adair, Kathi Oram Peterson and tons of others... I get to actually attend a mass book signing with these awesome writers and many others as an official published author!!

I am so jazzed! The mass book signing is open to the public from 5:00 pm-6:45 pm. There will be like a 100 authors--so there is sure to be a favorite or two of yours present.

Please share this post with your friends and followers for an even bigger turnout.

The 2nd great thing is you have a chance to win The Secret Sisters Club: A Ginnie West Adventure by going to Julie Coulture Bellon's blog.

Come join the fun--in person or online! :)
